NSTXL Success: A New Non-Traditional Displaces a Legacy Problem

NSTXL Success is an ongoing series of stories that highlight some of the innovative work that we’ve done with our valued government clients, members, and partners.

Problem: The Navy was looking for a new innovator to replace a legacy system that was too expensive. The incumbent performer was deeply entrenched, and the Navy needed help in discovering other innovators that could take the lead.

Solution: Through use of a Design Sprint, NSTXL informed the acquisition strategy with a glidepath to modernization. We helped craft the RFS with the Navy and aggressively marketed the solicitation.

Outcome/Metrics: Ultimately, the incumbent for NOBLE was displaced by Palantir, a first-time vendor to the Navy. The successful project was recently praised in the Washington Post (in March 2020) and would not have been possible without our unique events and support.
