Workforce Innovations Supporting Hypersonics (WISH) | Project No. 25-14
OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:
Coming Soon Notice - Posted on 10 September 2025
Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane and the Joint Hypersonics Transition Office (JHTO) are preparing to launch a prototype project focused on innovative, sustainable workforce development prototypes that support systems-level testing and manufacturing for hypersonics and high-end aerospace platforms. This effort, titled Workforce Innovation Supporting Hypersonics (WISH), aims to develop and implement scalable training models that equip U.S. citizens with hands-on experience and technical skills essential to the hypersonics ecosystem.
Key Areas of Interest include:
1. Experiential education programs targeting technical and engineering skills applicable to hypersonic systems manufacturing and testing
2. Industry-academic partnerships designed to address evolving workforce demands in propulsion, advanced materials, and system integration
3. Scalable workforce development models with replicability across educational institutions and manufacturing hubs
The prototype development period of performance for WISH Other Transaction Authority (OTA) awards will be determined following the release of the Request for Solutions (RFS) and based on selected performers’ proposed timelines.
