Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Instrumentation Device

On July 31, 2018, in accordance with 10 U.S. Code § 2371b, an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) has been awarded under the Training and Readiness Accelerator (TReX) for the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Instrumentation Device.  One prototype project was awarded to:

Inter-Coastal Electronics Inc. (ICE) located in Mesa, AZ in the amount of $384,210 for all phases of this effort.

The U.S. Army desires a Long-Term Evolution (LTE)-based device to provide real-time position location of UAS platforms during live force-on-force training exercises. Current telemetry devices are too large and heavy for small UAS platforms to carry. This effort will demonstrate the integration of commercial devices and/or components into the Combat Training Center (CTC) Instrumentation system using the LTE communications network.
