SP27 Inter Facility Transportation Equipment (IFTE) | Project No. 25-17

Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane is preparing to release a new opportunity focused on the development and prototyping of next-generation Inter-Facility Transportation Equipment (IFTE) D5 boxcars. This effort supports the continued safe and reliable transport of D5 rocket motors within the Continental United States (CONUS) and addresses critical obsolescence and performance challenges in the current fleet.

Key Areas of Interest include:

• Development and testing of modernized boxcar prototypes that meet all operational and technical requirements.
• Integration of updated systems to replace obsolete components and improve maintainability.
• Validation of design improvements through retrofit and testing of a legacy platform.
• Enhancement of production quality and repeatability.
• Delivery of a complete and updated Technical Data Package (TDP), including design drawings, software documentation, electrical schematics, and lifecycle support materials.

The goal of this prototype effort is to deliver a fully validated and sustainable IFTE D5 boxcar solution that ensures long-term fleet readiness and mission support.

After the event concludes, all registrants receive follow-up resources including the presentation slide deck and contact information.
