SHY Sprints 2026: Scalable Production of Hypersonic Glide Vehicles and Advanced Manufacturing of Solid Rocket Motors | Project No. 26-04

Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane is preparing to release a prototype project in support of the Department of War Critical Technology Area: Scaled Hypersonics (SHY). This effort will explore innovative approaches to developing production-scalable hypersonic glide vehicles and advanced manufacturing technologies for solid rocket motors to support future hypersonic capabilities.

Key Areas of Interest include:

1. 1. Novel front-end concepts that enable enhanced fielding of hypersonic strike capability
   2. Scalable, cost-effective manufacturing technologies for advanced missile components
   3. Materials and design innovations that improve producibility and operational readiness
   4. Approaches that strengthen resilience across the domestic industrial base
   5. Technology pathways that enable transition into future hypersonic and missile systems

The prototype development period of performance for the Other Transaction Authority (OTA) awards will be determined following the release of the Request for Solutions (RFS) and based on selected performers’ proposed timelines.
