The Department of War, in partnership with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, is preparing to release a commercial opportunity focused on development and demonstration of advanced next generation hypersonic capabilities. This effort will explore innovative approaches supporting integration, maturation, and demonstration of prototype hypersonic systems.
The goal of this prototype initiative is to mature and demonstrate integrated prototype capabilities supporting future operational applications.
Key Areas of Interest include:
- Hypersonic system integration approaches
- Payload, booster, and mission systems integration
- Modular and scalable system architectures
- Prototype development, testing, and flight demonstration capabilities
- Advanced manufacturing and production readiness approaches
- Technical solutions supporting system maturation and operational transition
This effort will support advancement of next generation hypersonic technologies through prototype development, system integration, and demonstration activities. The prototype development period of performance for resulting Other Transaction Authority (OTA) awards will be finalized following release of the Request for Solutions (RFS) and based on the proposed technical approach and performer timelines.

Ways to Engage:
- Register for the Innovator NETWORX Teaming Event: The INX teaming event process begins when an opportunity is announced as “Coming Soon,” and the corresponding INX event date is released. At that time, organizations can register to either attend the event as a listener or present their capabilities to other interested participants. During the virtual event, organizations interested in the Next Generation Hypersonics for the Department of War opportunity will have 3–6 minutes to share, depending on overall interest and the number of presenters. After the event concludes, all registrants receive follow-up resources, including the presentation slide deck and contact information.
- Join this exclusive event on June 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET to introduce yourself and meet others who complement your offerings.
