Coming Soon Notice – Posted on 29 August 2025

The Department of Defense (DoD), in partnership with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, is preparing to release a new prototype project opportunity focused on the development of a common, ruggedized transportation trailer for strategic and conventional hypersonic weapon systems. This effort aims to address critical logistical gaps by delivering Department of Transportation (DOT) -compliant, environmentally controlled trailers capable of securely transporting sensitive components.

Key Areas of Interest include:

  1. Environmentally Controlled Trailers – Purpose-built for secure, over-the-road transport of
    hypersonic canisters and containers.
  2. Modular, Multi-Mission Carriage (MMC) Design – Adaptable architecture to support a range
    of payloads.
  3. Integration of Government-Owned Low-Cost Tracking Module (LCTM) – Including collaboration on DOT compliance and testing.

This prototype effort will inform future production decisions and long-term sustainment strategies for hypersonic logistics infrastructure. The prototype development period of performance for MMT Other Transaction Authority (OTA) awards will be determined following the release of the Request for Solutions (RFS) and based on selected performers’ proposed timelines.
