RNI – Antenna Array Panel Assembly (AAPA) Modernization
S²MARTS REQUEST FOR NETWORK INSIGHT
This S²MARTS announcement is intended to survey U.S. companies that design or manufacture radio frequency antenna arrays and circuit cards for the defense supply chain industry through NSTXL’s Innovation Network. The objective is to gather information related to the extent that U.S. companies have developed or are willing to develop improvements or a replacement for a passive, receive only, antenna array panel for Navy surface ships.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare (Code WXM), is interested in pursuing an effort to replace or modify the existing array panel on the AN/SLQ-32(V)6. The current antenna array panel assembly (AAPA) has been fielded for ten years. Over that time, many panels have needed to be replaced due to water intrusion. The AAPA is a set of multiple interferometer arrays on surface Navy ships. This effort will seek to modernize the design to increase its manufacturability and repair ability.
